Head's Welcome

On behalf of the staff, I would like to welcome you to Brynmawr Foundation School. We are an exciting 11-16 community school. The school has existed for nearly 60 years and we are proud of the traditional values we combine with modern technology and approaches to teaching. There is a warm and welcoming ethos, which is a very important part of our identity.

We encourage our pupils to have high aspirations towards future careers; the quality of teaching and learning is very good and leads to excellent results for the pupils. We want our pupils to become successful, confident and caring adults who able to take an active part in society. 

After the disruptions of the last two years, pupil wellbeing is a priority; we have introduced a Wellbeing Officer, who is available all day for pupils.  Everyone is valued as an individual and there is a wide range of leadership opportunities, extra-curricular activities that enable talents and creativity to be identified and nurtured.  This philosophy is summarised in our motto;

“Aspiration. Application. Achievement”

It is a privilege for me to lead this fantastic school.  I am very proud of our imaginative pupils, dedicated staff, diligent governors and supportive parents.

New pupils and their parents or carers are encouraged to look at our website and to arrange a visit to our school. This is the best way of really seeing what our school has to offer. I look forward to meeting you.
