CAT Testing
Each academic year our pupils undertake CAT (Cognitive Ability Test) testing. These tests are designed to look at how we think as opposed to what we know. These tests do not require preparation, however every effort must be taken when answering the questions.
The information from these CAT tests will be used in many ways including:
- Identifying specific intervention needs of individual pupils and groups of pupils
- Identifying potential Additional Learning Needs
- Informing teacher planning to ensure pupils make good progress
- Informing Target setting
- Gaining valuable insight into pupil learning styles
